Screenwriter
Francesca Romana Massaro class of ’80, is a professional journalist, screenwriter and writer. Her essay, “Il cinema come nessuno ve l’ha mai raccontato” (Emmebi Editions 2013), was a publishing success and is part of the New York Public Library archive. Since his second book, “L’età d’oro. Il caso Véronique” (Emmebi Editions 2012), written four hands with film critic Silvana Silvestri, he adapted and wrote the screenplay for the film “L’età d’oro” directed by Emanuela Piovano, starring Laura
Morante, Gigio Alberti, Giulio Scarpati, Stefano Fresi and many other great Italian actors (Kitchenfilm,
Testukiné, Bolero Film). His third book, “Cinematografia organizzata” (Ensemble Editions), is an investigation into Mafia infiltration in the cinema, carried out using files desecreted by the FBI.
The book is in their archives. She supervised and communicated Valerio Ruiz’s “Dietro gli occhiali bianchi,” about and with Lina Wertmüller (BWG, Universal, Recalcati), Francesca Mazzoleni’s
“Succede” (Warner Bros, RCE, Indigo Film) and Matteo Rovere’s “Il primo Re” (Greenland, RaiCinema, RCE, Gapbusters). He wrote “Donne senza nome ‐ Bocche inutili” together with the film’s director, Claudio Uberti and philosopher Francesca Nodari (Lucere Film, RaiCinema). He is currently writing ” Forse,” the film with which Renato Zero will make his directorial debut (Pegasus, Sky). He signed “Come se,” together with Nicola Nocella and Paolo Ruffini, a film to be directed by the latter (Pegasus, RaiCinema, 01).
