Director and Screenwriter
Adriano Giotti is an Italian filmmaker who trained at the Scuola Holden. In 2011, he was selected for the NCN LAB at the Casa del Cinema and received a Special Mention for the screenplay of *A Vuoto*. In 2012, he won the Rome 48 Hour Film Festival with the short film *Abbiamo tutta la notte*, with which he represented Italy at the Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Festival.
In 2014, he directed ‘Piume’, which won several awards, including the Amnesty International Award at the Giffoni Film Festival. The short film was also included in the Young Italian Filmmakers section at the Venice Film Festival.
In 2015, he directed ‘A Vuoto’, which was shortlisted for the Globi d’Oro and was also included in the Young Italian Filmmakers section at the Venice Film Festival.

In 2016, he directed ‘Esseri di stelle’, produced by Rai Cinema, which was in competition at the Giffoni Film Festival and at several other international festivals; furthermore, with this short film, he was included in the Young Italian Filmmakers section at the Venice Film Festival for the third consecutive year. Also in 2016, he directed the short film ‘Mostri’, nominated for a David di Donatello award and in competition at the Tampere Film Festival and the HollyShorts Film Festival (both Oscar® qualifying); the short film was also recognised by MIBACT with the designation of Art House Cinema. In the same year, he won the Best Italian Film award at RIFF – Rome Independent Film Festival for his medium-length film ‘Sex Cowboys’, which was distributed in the UK, Germany, Australia, Taiwan and South Korea, as well as in Italy. In 2021, he directed ‘Camerieri’, which won several awards at various national and international festivals, including ‘Best Director’ at the Job Days Film Festival in Turin and ‘Best Social Short Film’ at Corto Dorico.
In 2022, he directed ‘Tik Tok Star’ and ‘Turisti’, produced by BartlebyFilm and Rai Cinema. Turisti had its international premiere at the OFF – Odense International Film Festival 2023 (Oscar® qualifying) in Denmark and its national premiere at the Turin Film Festival 2023.
In January 2026, his literary debut, ‘Anna non dimentica’, was published by Longanesi.
