Alessio Coccia en

Director and Screenwriter

Born in Rome in 1992. He graduated in Literature from Roma Tre University and attended a filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy. He subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Dramaturgy and Screenwriting from the Silvio d’Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts, during which he wrote “Quelle voci nella stanza,” a play performed at the 13th Contaminazioni Festival at the Teatro India in Rome. With Visioni in movimento, an artistic residency promoted by Culture Attive with the support of MiBACT and SIAE, he made the short film “Passeur,” presented at the 20th International Frontier Film Festival. After working in the editorial departments of productions such as 11 Marzo Film and Mompracem, he participated in the second edition of Script in Progress, a workshop organized by Anica Academy with 100autori and Writers Guild Italia. As an author, his projects have received MiC Selective Contributions for writing and development, as well as several awards: in 2021, he won the Notorious Project in the Script category with the feature film “Rest in Termini,” selected at the Fiction Factory Showcase during the Biografilm Festival, while in 2023, he was a finalist for the Italy-Spain Solinas Award with the film “Extranjero.” In 2025, he won first prize for Best Feature Film Story with “Lo sconosciuto” at the Bari Puglia International Film Festival. He co-wrote the documentary “Niente di speciale,” produced by Unicorn in collaboration with Rai Documentari and directed by Alessio Di Cosimo, which aired on Rai 2 and RaiPlay
