Director and Screenwriter
Screenwriter/Director. In 2001, he received a degree in Theoretical Philosophy with a thesis on Hegel at the University of Rome “La Sapienza.” He attends schools of creative writing and screenwriting (Centro International Alberto Moravia; Scuola Holden) meeting among the teachers Age, Suso Cecchi D’Amico, Mario Monicelli, Andrea Camilleri, Domenico Starnone, Dacia Maraini. In 2006, the short film “Tana libera tutti” for which he wrote the subject and screenplay, was short-listed at the David di Donatello Awards, received the recognition of “Work of National Cultural Interest,” the Special Jury Prize at the Arcipelago Festival, and is selected in numerous international festivals. In 2006, the short film “Io parlo!”, written and directed, is selected by about 80 festivals, obtaining among others: the Best Foreign Film award at the Independent’s Film Festival in Florida and representing Italy at the “Kodak European Showcase for New Talents” at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. “Pizzangrillo,” his latest short film, which was selected by 200 festivals, won more than 120 awards, including the Audience Award in Arizona, the Best Comedy Short Award in Colorado, the Best Short Award at the San Francisco Short Film Festival, the “Comune di Giffoni Valle Piana” award at the Giffoni Film Festival, and was acquired by the Studio Universal channel. He collaborated on the screenplay for Guido Lombardi’s film “La-bas,” winner of the Leone d’oro of the Future and Critics’ Week at the Venice 68 Film Festival. As screenwriter, he edits two of the three episodes of the film “Vieni a vivere a Napoli,” released in theaters in 2017. He writes subject and screenplay for the film “Bob s Mary…s,” starring Rocco Papaleo and Laura Morante, released in theaters in 2018. The short film “La recita,” written with Guido Lombardi, is best film in the Migrarti section at Venice 74 and enters the cinquina at the 2018 Nastri d’argento. He wrote the screenplay for “Il ladro di giorni” together with Guido Lombardi and Luca De Benedittis (prod. Indigo film, Bronx film, Rai Cinema), in official selection at the Rome Film Festival; a film in which he also played the role of acting coach for the young protagonist.
